The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, in response to the arbitrary, unjustified, and hostile decision of the government of the Republic of Ecuador to declare all Cuban diplomatic, consular, and administrative personnel accredited in that country persona non grata, and given the impossibility of maintaining diplomatic representation, has decided to cease using the building used as the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy and to withdraw, with immediate effect, all attributes and symbols identifying its diplomatic mission in Quito.

Yesterday, our authorities reported an attempted infiltration for terrorist purposes by 10 individuals on a vessel registered in the state of Florida, United States.
From the outset, and having detected that the vessel came from U.S. territory, Cuban authorities have maintained communication about this terrorist attempt with their U.S. counterparts, including the State Department and the Coast Guard.
