Cuba rejects US Presidential Memorandum which tightens the economic blockade

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The anti-Cuban document released by the U.S. government on June 30, 2025, consists of a reissue and amendment of the National Security Presidential Memorandum No. 5 that the US government itself had issued on June 16, 2017, at the beginning of Donald Trump's first term.

Cuba categorically denounces and rejects both versions of the infamous document.

Ambassador meets with Trinidad and Tobago's Foreign Minister

 

Port of Spain, Monday, June 2. The Ambassador of Cuba, Gustavo Veliz, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, the Honorable Sean Sobers, who assumed office on May 3 following the victory of the United National Congress (UNC) in the general elections held on April 28, 2025.

Cuban Ambassador Receives Daren Lee Sing

Port of Spain, April 11th, 2025. Daren Lee Sing, Executive Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI), visited the Embassy of Cuba.

During his visit to the Cuban Embassy, Lee Sing met with Ambassador Gustavo Veliz Olivares and Economic and Commercial Counsellor Julio Cabada. In the course of the cordial exchange, Lee Sing was invited to participate in Expocaribe 2025, to be held in Santiago de Cuba this coming June.
