The Revolutionary Government of Cuba condemns, in the strongest terms, the new escalation against Cuba by the government of the United States in its efforts to impose an absolute siege on our country’s fuel supplies.

The executive order issued by the US President, announced on January 29, 2026, declares an alleged national emergency by virtue of which his government could apply trade tariffs to the imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.

Act of piracy and maritime terrorism that reinforces economic war against Cuba

On December 10, 2025, US military forces assaulted an oil tanker while it was sailing in international waters in the Caribbean Sea, near the coast of Venezuela.

This act of piracy and maritime terrorism constitutes a serious violation of international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Maritime Navigation. The United States government is responsible for committing these crimes, which harm the international community as a whole.

Indian unions reiterate solidarity with Cuba and denounce blockade

New Delhi, July 26 (Prensa Latina) Several Indian unions reiterated their support for the Cuban Revolution today while condemning the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Caribbean island by the United States for more than 50 years.

Representatives of various guilds visited the Cuban embassy on the occasion of National Rebellion Day, which every July 26 celebrates the anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons in 1953, an action that reinitiated the struggle process in the Largest of the Antilles.

GUE/NGL statement on US President’s new policy towards Cuba

Yesterday, the President of the United States made a speech on his administration’s new approach regarding the relations between the US and Cuba, and the decision to reverse the Obama administration’s policies towards Cuba. In his speech, the US President said that America will impose his policy against the Cuban people by enforcing the maintenance of the criminal blockade; by enforcing a ban on tourism; and by enforcing a prohibition of any financial transaction with Cuba.
