The 97th birthday of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro is celebrated in the Turkish city of Ankara.
On August 13, more than 30 Turkish citizens joined the Cuban Embassy in a tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, organized at the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center in Ankara by the "José Martí" Cuba Friendship Association and the Cuban Embassy, on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Cuban revolutionary's birth.

The Cuban diplomatic mission in Turkey, in coordination with the José Martí Friendship Association, held a political-cultural activity to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks. Cuban diplomat Luis Javier Cabañas spoke at the event and took the opportunity to condemn the US blockade against Cuba and its current intensification, which the participants joined in condemning.
