UNESCO calls for the Carlos J. Finlay Prize for Microbiology 2023.

Havana, August 17. UNESCO, as part of its Awards system, has called for the Carlos J. Finlay Award for Microbiology 2023, sponsored by Cuba.

This is one of the longest-standing, among several aimed at recognizing the merits and work of scientists, teachers, journalists, artists, and relevant figures and institutions linked to their fields of competence.

The deadline for submitting proposals is in September.

In this system of Awards, Cuba also has the José Martí International UNESCO Award.

Damage caused by the U.S. blockade to education in Cuba
