The Cuban Ministry of Higher Education and Cuban universities invite you to participate in the 15th International Congress on Higher Education, University 2026, which will take place in Havana, from February 9-13, 2026.
The Congress will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and virtual), under the theme "Innovation and Social Transformation: Higher Education's Commitment to Sustainable and Inclusive Development."
It will be a space for continued dialogue and reflection on the role of higher education in sustainable and inclusive development.
Nearly 3,000 delegates from 46 countries (2,135 Cubans and 797 foreigners) participated in University 2024, including Ministers, Vice Ministers, and other Education officials, some 300 Rectors, and 36 international organizations.
Among the most representative delegations were 79 rectors and vice-rectors from Brazil, 59 representatives from the United States, 38 rectors and executives from Russia, 29 from France, 12 from China, 85 from Mexico, 65 from Ecuador, and 14 from Hungary.
At the 14th edition of the Congress in 2024, 2,225 presentations were made, of which 1,814 were from Cuba and 411 from Foreign professionals. 523 presentations were given by Cubans and 78 by foreigners via videoconference. A Higher Education in Cuba exhibition fair was also held with 37 stands from 24 universities and 148 exhibitors.
Within the framework of University 2026, six core activities or forums will be held, including a "Forum of Ministers and Authorities of Higher Education" and six symposia:

Meeting of Trade Union and Professional Organizations at the University
The presentation of papers will be organized around six symposia, which combine the workshops traditionally convened at the University Congress:

Symposium 2: "Quality Education and its Sustainability in Postgraduate Management and Human Capital"
Symposium 3: "University Outreach, Commitment, and Social Transformation for Sustainable Development"

Symposium 5: "University, Knowledge, and Innovation for Sustainable Development"
Symposium 6: "The University-Business Relationship, a Driving Force of Science, Innovation, the Relevance of Higher Education, and Sustainable Development"
