Havana, 16 September 2020. - Cuba will participate in the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, which, for the first time, will be held virtually owing to the global health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our country will take the floor both in the General Debate and in the high-level events that will be held, to wit, the sessions to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, as well as the Summit on Biodiversity.
Just as it does every year, Cuba will defend multilateralism, the full respect for the principles and norms of International Law, the pivotal role of the United Nations and its General Assembly in addressing the serious challenges mankind is facing and in advancing the construction of a democratic, just and equitable international order that responds to the call for peace and sustainable development of our peoples.
