Panagyurshiste, 20 October 2025. The Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba Company was first presented in Bulgaria with resounding success. The Sport Arena Asarel, from the city of Panagyurshiste was the scene of an authentic Cuban show, which the public of several generations of the Balkan country cheered.
The show, which illustrates the mixture of the Spanish and African roots that define Cuban culture, proved an excellent opportunity to present a first-class, comprehensive artistic show that includes all Cuban musical genres: chachacha, mambo, rumba, son, bolero and conga, in perfect harmony with foreigners such as Latin jazz, swing, rock and roll and flamenco.
The audience and critics highly valued a show elaborated with exquisite taste and elegance, which is infected by its joy, energy, perfect synchronization and technique.
The director, choreographer and teacher Lizt Alfonso expressed the satisfaction and pride of the company in presenting for the first time in Bulgaria and invited those present to enjoy a tour of the history and roots of Cuban culture, through dance and music.
Mr. Dimitar Tsotsorkov, Director of the Lachazar Tsotsorkov Foundation, host of the presentation, on the occasion of the celebration of its 80th anniversary, thanked the Cuban artists for their exquisite presentation and the opportunity to be enjoyed by the public of Panagyurshiste and Bulgaria.
The Ambassador of Cuba to Bulgaria, Marieta García, congratulated the artists and valued the opportunity to present in this country such a high representation of Cuban art, in the framework of the activities for the day for Cuban culture and the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Bulgaria.
