The Cuban Ambassador to Botswana received a group of twelfth-grade students from Maruapula School

Gaborone – The Cuban Ambassador to Botswana, Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre, recently received a group of twelfth-grade students from Maruapula School in the capital, as part of their preparation for an upcoming presentation on Cuba to fellow students at the institution.

The Ambassador provided them with extensive information, highlighting the life and work of National Hero José Martí and historic leader Fidel Castro, the national symbols, the essence of Cuba’s foreign policy, and the country’s current reality. He also shared data and figures on the effects of the longest economic siege in human history, imposed against no other country in the world, and further intensified by the energy blockade as part of the imperialist aggression against the Cuban people.

The students asked questions on the various topics discussed, showing particular interest in expanding their knowledge about José Martí, which led to a lively exchange with the diplomat.

The Caribbean diplomat gifted them several books, posters, and music and historical recordings for their presentation, encouraging them not to lose the interest they had shown in Cuba and to return soon for new encounters about the homeland of Martí and Fidel.

On behalf of the group, student Laone Ketlhaotswe expressed gratitude for the information and support received and promised to deliver a presentation worthy of what Cuba represents for African youth.
