Cuban Ambassador visits Singapore's National Center for Food Sciences

Singapore, June 9, 2025. Ambassador Lisbet Quesada Luna, along with several representatives of the Diplomatic Corps in Singapore, visited the National Center for Food Sciences (NCFS), where they were received by the Senior Minister of State, Mr. Zaqy Mohamad.

During the visit, they visited several NCFS laboratories, such as the Food Microbiology Laboratory and the ASEAN Food Reference Laboratories, and learned more about the Go Green SG Strategy. At the end of the tour, they enjoyed a variety of innovative foods, such as farmed quail and ice cream with solein, an edible microbial protein alternative to soy, eggs, milk, and meat.

The National Center for Food Sciences (NCFS) as part of the Go Green SG movement. The NCFS, part of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), plays a crucial role in safeguarding Singapore's food safety by providing scientific expertise and conducting extensive applied research, risk assessment studies, data analysis, and laboratory diagnostics.
