Mientras el pueblo cubano y los amigos de Cuba en todo el mundo conmemoran el 57º aniversario del triunfo de la revolución y de la Caravana de la Libertad, Estados Unidos, en un acto de piratería de una violencia inusitada, ha atacado Venezuela y ha capturado y secuestrado al presidente Maduro y a su esposa. La intervención militar con decenas de aviones, helicópteros, drones y militares desembarcados ha costado la vida a decenas de personas, entre ellas 32 militares cubanos.
La doctrina Donroe (nueva versión de la doctrina Monroe) para el dominio de América Latina y el Caribe recurre a medios extremos, ya que todo vale para apoderarse del petróleo y las materias primas del continente.
En declaraciones a la prensa, los días 7 y 8 de enero, Trump reconoció haber utilizado todos los medios de presión posibles contra Cuba, excepto las opciones militares. «No se puede ejercer más presión, salvo invadir y destruir... Cuba pende de un hilo. Cuba tiene grandes problemas... Son duros, un pueblo duro. Un gran pueblo», declaró.
Los Amigos de Cuba condenan esta política imperialista y neocolonialista aplicada en contra de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas, violando el derecho internacional. Hacen un llamamiento a todas las fuerzas democráticas para que actúen con el fin de poner fin a la política de Trump y su gobierno fascista.
Los Amigos de Cuba reafirman su apoyo y solidaridad con el pueblo cubano y su Gobierno.

Statement by the organization "Les Amis de Cuba"
As the Cuban people and friends of Cuba around the world commemorate the 57th anniversary of the triumph of the revolution and the Caravana de la Libertad, the United States has, in an act of piracy of rare violence, attacked Venezuela and captured and kidnapped President Maduro and his wife. The military intervention, involving dozens of planes, helicopters, drones, and troops, has cost the lives of dozens of people, including 32 Cuban soldiers.
The Donroe Doctrine (a new version of the Monroe Doctrine) for the domination of Latin America and the Caribbean is resorting to extreme measures, as anything goes in order to seize the continent's oil and raw materials.
In statements to the press on January 7 and 8, Trump acknowledged that he had used all possible means of pressure against Cuba, except military options. “More pressure is impossible, except to invade and destroy... Cuba is hanging by a thread. Cuba has big problems... They are tough, a tough people. A great people,” he said.
The Friends of Cuba condemn this imperialist and neo-colonialist policy, which violates the United Nations Charter and international law. They call on all democratic forces to take action to put an end to the policies of Trump and his fascist government.
The Friends of Cuba reaffirm their support and solidarity with the Cuban people and their government.
