En el día de ayer nuestras autoridades denunciaron un intento de infiltración con fines terroristas por parte de 10 personas, en una embarcación con matrícula del Estado de Florida, en Estados Unidos.
Desde el primer momento, y habiéndose detectado que el medio naval procedía del territorio de Estados Unidos, las autoridades cubanas han mantenido comunicación sobre este intento terrorista con sus contrapartes estadounidenses, incluyendo el Departamento de Estado y el Servicio de Guardacostas. Está en curso un proceso investigativo dirigido a esclarecer los hechos con todo rigor. El gobierno cubano tiene disposición a intercambiar con el estadounidense sobre este hecho.
Entre otros requerimientos, solicitaremos información sobre los implicados, el medio utilizado y otros detalles, a las autoridades estadounidenses mediante los mecanismos vigentes entre los dos países.
Las autoridades del gobierno estadounidense han mostrado disposición a cooperar en el esclarecimiento de estos lamentables hechos.
Es oportuno precisar que los 10 individuos involucrados en el hecho son los siguientes: Cristian Ernesto Acosta Guevara, Conrado Galindo Serrior, José Manuel Rodríguez Castelló, Leordán Cruz Gomez, Amijail Sanchez Gonzalez, Roberto Alvarez Avila y Pavel Alling Peña, Michael Ortega Casanova, Ledián Padrón Guevara y Hector Duani Cruz Correa, estos últimos 4 fallecidos.
En una información inicial se mencionó, por error de apreciación en la identificación, a Rolando Roberto Ascorra Consuegra, quien no forma parte del grupo, si bien es una persona conocida por su trayectoria vinculada a acciones e intenciones violentas contra Cuba.
Como ya se informó, entre los elementos ocupados en la embarcación se encuentra armamento. Entre ellos fusiles de asalto, fusiles de francotirador, pistolas, cocteles Molotov, múltiples equipos de asalto que incluyen equipos de visión nocturna, chalecos antibalas, bayonetas de asalto, ropa de camuflaje, municiones de diverso calibre, alimentación para uso en combate, medios de comunicación y un grupo importante de monogramas de organizaciones contrarrevolucionarias de corte terrorista. Esta información sigue siendo preliminar. Se brindarán más detalles en los próximos días.
Este no es un acto aislado.
Cuba ha sido víctima de agresiones y de incontables actos terroristas desde hace más de 60 años. En su mayoría organizados, financiados y ejecutados desde territorio de los Estados Unidos.
En los últimos años las autoridades cubanas han denunciado el incremento de los planes y las acciones violentas y terroristas contra Cuba, y el sentimiento de impunidad que prevalece en los organizadores y ejecutores ante la inacción frente a ellos. Las autoridades cubanas han dado a conocer con regularidad al Gobierno de Estados Unidos información de las personas que en los últimos años se han dedicado a promover, financiar y organizar actos violentos y terroristas contra Cuba.
Esta información incluye la lista nacional de personas y entidades que han sido sometidas a investigaciones penales y se encuentran buscadas por las autoridades cubanas, a partir de vinculación con actos de terrorismo. Ella se elabora en conformidad con la Resolución 1373 del Consejo de Seguridad de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, las normas y principios del derecho internacional y el ordenamiento jurídico nacional.
Dos de los perpetradores, Amijail Sánchez González y Leordan Enrique Cruz Gómez, están incluidos en dicha Lista que fue compartida con Estados Unidos en 2023 y 2025, y gozaban de impunidad dentro del territorio estadounidense. El gobierno cubano aún espera respuestas a las solicitudes de información sobre ellos y el resto de los individuos y organizaciones incluidos en la Lista emitida.
Los grupos anticubanos que operan en Estados Unidos acuden al terrorismo como expresión de su odio contra Cuba y la impunidad que creen disfrutar.
Cuba ratifica su compromiso absoluto y categórico contra todos los actos, métodos y prácticas terroristas en todas sus formas y manifestaciones.
Nuestro país mantiene un desempeño ejemplar en el enfrentamiento al terrorismo, y ha cumplido, y continuará honrando, los compromisos que ha asumido en esa materia. Cuba es parte de los 19 convenios internacionales relativos al terrorismo, conforme a lo cual ha puesto en vigor medidas legales e institucionales encaminadas al enfrentamiento efectivo a ese flagelo. Cuba tiene el deber y la responsabilidad de proteger sus aguas territoriales.
Nuestro desempeño es congruente con el derecho internacional que asiste a todos los países, incluido el propio Estados Unidos. Es, además, parte de la defensa nacional del Estado cubano como pilar indispensable para la protección de nuestra soberanía, la vida, la seguridad y el bienestar de los cubanos.

Statement by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Carlos Fernández de Cossío
Yesterday, our authorities reported an attempted infiltration for terrorist purposes involving 10 individuals aboard a vessel registered in the State of Florida, United States.
From the very outset, upon determining that the vessel had departed from United States territory, Cuban authorities have maintained communication with their U.S. counterparts—including the Department of State and the Coast Guard—regarding this terrorist attempt. An investigation is currently underway to fully clarify the facts with the utmost rigor. The Cuban government is willing to exchange information with the United States government concerning this incident.
Among other requests, we will ask the U.S. authorities—through the existing mechanisms between the two countries—for information about the individuals involved, the vessel used, among other details.
U.S. government authorities have expressed their willingness to cooperate in clarifying these regrettable events.
It is appropriate to state that the 10 individuals involved are: Cristian Ernesto Acosta Guevara, Conrado Galindo Serrior, José Manuel Rodríguez Castelló, Leordán Cruz Gómez, Amijail Sánchez González, Roberto Álvarez Ávila, Pavel Alling Peña, Michael Ortega Casanova, Ledián Padrón Guevara, and Héctor Duani Cruz Correa, the latter four deceased.
In an initial report, Rolando Roberto Ascorra Consuegra was mistakenly identified as part of the group, although he is not, despite the fact he is known for his record of involvement in violent actions and intentions against Cuba.
As previously reported, weapons were seized aboard the vessel. These include assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, Molotov cocktails, multiple tactical assault gear including night vision equipment, bulletproof vests, assault bayonets, camouflage clothing, ammunition of various calibers, combat rations, communication equipment, and a significant number of monograms from counterrevolutionary terrorist organizations. This information is still preliminary. Further details will be provided in the coming days.
This is not an isolated act.
For over 60 years, Cuba has been the victim of aggression and countless terrorist acts, most of them have been organized, financed, and carried out from United States territory.
In recent years, Cuban authorities have denounced the increase in violent and terrorist plans and actions against Cuba, as well as the prevailing sense of impunity among the organizers and perpetrators in the face of inaction against them. Cuban authorities have regularly provided the US Government with information on individuals who in recent years, have been involved in promoting, financing, and organizing violent and terrorist acts against Cuba.
This information includes the National List of individuals and entities that have been subject to criminal investigations and are wanted by Cuban authorities due to their participation in acts of terrorism. It is compiled in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1373, the norms and principles of international law, and domestic legislation.
Two of the perpetrators, Amijail Sánchez González and Leordan Enrique Cruz Gómez, are included on the list shared with the United States in 2023 and 2025, and they enjoyed impunity within U.S. territory. The Cuban government is still awaiting responses to requests for information about them and the other individuals and organizations included on that list.
Anti-Cuban groups operating in the United States resort to terrorism as an expression of their hatred to Cuba and the impunity they believe they enjoy.
Cuba reaffirms its absolute and categorical commitment against all terrorist acts, methods, and practices in all their forms and manifestations.
Our country maintains an exemplary record in combating terrorism and has fulfilled—and will continue to honor—the commitments it has undertaken in this area. Cuba is a State Party to the 19 international conventions on terrorism and has accordingly implemented legal and institutional measures aimed at effectively combating this scourge. Cuba has the duty and responsibility to protect its territorial waters.
Our actions are consistent with the international law, which applies to all countries, including the United States itself. Furthermore, they are part of the Cuban state´s national defense as an indispensable pillar for safeguarding our sovereignty, as well as the lives, security, and well-being of Cubans.
