Embajador de Cuba, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios sostuvo encuentro con Heidy Rombouts, Directora General de Cooperación al Desarrollo y Ayuda Humanitaria d el Servicio Público Federal para Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio Exterior y Cooperación para el Desarrollo . El provechoso intercambio tuvo lugar la tarde de este miércoles, 30 de abril, en la sede de la Cancillería belga.
Ambos diplomáticos dialogaron sobre el estado actual de las relaciones bilaterales y sobre las potencialidades existentes para avanzar en los vínculos que, en materia de cooperación, sostienen Cuba y Bélgica y en la identificación de nuevos proyectos . Igualmente, concordaron en la relevancia de preservar y fomentar la cooperación multilateral, frente a los desafíos del actual contexto internacional.
Actualmente, Cuba y Bélgica mantienen un importante intercambio académico y científico, principalmente en el ámbito universitario. Igualmente, entre los ejemplos más sobresalientes en materia de cooperación se incluyen los proyectos que por años instituciones cubanas han desarrollado con el Instituto de Medicina Tropical de Amberes y las iniciativas de cooperación triangular que se han ejecutado en años recientes.

Ambassador of Cuba meets with the Director General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Belgian Foreign Ministry
Cuban Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios met with Heidy Rombouts, Director General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Federal Public Service for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. The fruitful exchange took place this Wednesday afternoon, April 30, at the Belgian Foreign Ministry headquarters.
The two diplomats discussed the current state of bilateral relations and the existing potentialities to advance in the cooperation ties between Cuba and Belgium and in the identification of new projects. They also agreed on the relevance of preserving and promoting multilateral cooperation in the face of the challenges of the current international context.
Currently, Cuba and Belgium maintain an important academic and scientific exchange, mainly in the university field. Likewise, among the most outstanding examples of cooperation are the projects that Cuban institutions have been developing for years with the Institute of Tropical Medicine of Antwerp and the triangular cooperation initiatives that have been carried out in recent years.
