El Embajador de Cuba, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, sostuvo dos encuentros con representantes del Parlamento Europeo, dirigidos a continuar construyendo puentes de diálogo y cooperación.
Fernández Palacios recibió en la sede diplomática al eurodiputado Anthony Smith, miembro del Grupo de la Izquierda (The Left), con quien sostuvo un intercambio ameno y fructífero sobre temas globales de interés común. El Embajador agradeció al eurodiputado su permanente apoyo a Cuba en la denuncia del bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero impuesto por el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos, así como por su defensa del Acuerdo de Diálogo Político y Cooperación (ADPC) entre Cuba y la Unión Europea.
Asimismo, el diplomático cubano dialogó con Iratxe García Pérez, presidenta del Grupo de los Socialistas y Demócratas (S&D) en el Parlamento Europeo. Ambas partes abordaron la actualidad internacional, el impacto del bloqueo contra Cuba y diversos aspectos de la agenda europea, destacando la importancia de continuar promoviendo un diálogo constructivo y relaciones basadas en el respeto mutuo.
Estos encuentros ratifican nuestra voluntad de continuar estrechando las relaciones con las instituciones europeas y a su vez, fortalecer los espacios de intercambio y cooperación.

Cuban ambassador holds meetings with European parliamentarians
Cuban Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios held two meetings with representatives of the European Parliament, aimed at continuing to build bridges of dialogue and cooperation.
Fernández Palacios welcomed MEP Anthony Smith, a member of The Left Group, to the diplomatic headquarters, where they had a pleasant and fruitful exchange on global issues of common interest. The Ambassador thanked the MEP for his continued support for Cuba in denouncing the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government, as well as for his defense of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (PDCA) between Cuba and the European Union.
The Cuban diplomat also spoke with Iratxe García Pérez, president of the Group of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament. Both parties discussed current international affairs, the impact of the blockade against Cuba, and various aspects of the European agenda, highlighting the importance of continuing to promote constructive dialogue and relations based on mutual respect.
These meetings confirm our willingness to continue strengthening relations with European institutions and, in turn, to strengthen opportunities for exchange and cooperation.
