Bruselas, 24 de noviembre.- Vísperas del 9no aniversario del fallecimiento del Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz, los integrantes de colectivo de la Embajada de Cuba en Bélgica se reunieron para realizar la siembra del tradicional árbol en homenaje al líder histórico de la Revolución Cubana.
En sus palabras para la ocasión, el Embajador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios evocó la trascendencia de la figura de Fidel para todos los cubanos y para otros pueblos del mundo; al tiempo que resaltó la necesidad de mantenernos fieles a su legado, aún y cuando corren tiempo difíciles para la Patria.
Este año, el colectivo plantó el cuarto de los árboles propuestos como parte de las iniciativas en ocasión del Centenario de Fidel. Se trata de un laurel cerezo, especie de hojas perennes, que se mantienen todo el año y soporta el frío. La resistencia de este árbol es un recuerdo perenne al ejemplo y la tenacidad del Comandante en Jefe.

Tribute to the Commander in Chief on the 9th Anniversary of His Passing
Brussels, November 24.- On the eve of the 9th anniversary of the passing of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Belgium gathered to plant the traditional tree in tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
In his remarks for the occasion, Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios highlighted the significance of Fidel’s legacy for all Cubans and for other peoples around the world, while emphasizing the need to remain faithful to his example, even in these difficult times for the Homeland.
This year, the Embassy staff planted the fourth of the trees proposed as part of the initiatives marking Fidel’s Centennial. The chosen tree was a cherry laurel, a species with evergreen leaves that remain year-round and withstand the cold. The resilience of this tree serves as a lasting reminder of the example and tenacity of the Commander in Chief.
