En su resolución 80/4, titulada “Necesidad de poner fin al bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero impuesto por los Estados Unidos de América contra Cuba”, la Asamblea General solicitó al Secretario General que, en consulta con los órganos y organismos pertinentes del sistema de las Naciones Unidas, preparara un informe sobre el cumplimiento de la resolución a la luz de los propósitos y principios de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas y del derecho internacional y se lo presentara en su octogésimo primer período de sesiones.
El presente informe contiene las respuestas de los Gobiernos y los órganos y organismos del sistema de las Naciones Unidas, así como de las entidades y organizaciones que han recibido una invitación permanente para participar en calidad de observadoras en los períodos de sesiones y los trabajos de la Asamblea General, a la solicitud de información sobre el tema formulada por el Secretario General.

Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba
Report of the Secretary-General
In its resolution 80/4, entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to prepare, in consultation with the appropriate organs and agencies of the United Nations system, a report on the implementation of the resolution in light of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law and to submit the report to the Assembly at its eighty-first session.
The present report reproduces the replies from Governments and organs and agencies of the United Nations system, as well as from entities and organizations that have received a standing invitation to participate as observers in the sessions and the work of the General Assembly, to the request of the Secretary-General for information on the matter.
