Bruselas 21 de diciembre.- En el Centro Cultural Jacques Franck tuvo lugar la proyección del emblemático filme cubano "Fresa y Chocolate", una obra que trasciende el ámbito cinematográfico para convertirse en un verdadero abrazo entre cubanos y un mensaje universal de tolerancia, amistad y respeto a la diversidad.
Dirigida por los reconocidos cineastas Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Titón) y Juan Carlos Tabío, la película volvió a conmover al público presente. Más allá de su consagrado éxito internacional y de su histórica nominación al Premio Oscar, Fresa y Chocolate mantiene plena vigencia como crónica social, reflejo de símbolos culturales e históricos, y como himno a la convivencia por encima de cualquier diferencia. Su proyección recordó que los valores que unen a los pueblos son siempre más fuertes que aquello que los separa.
El evento contó con el valioso apoyo del Cine-Club Kinolatino y de la Association Culturelle Joseph Jacquemotte, así como con el compromiso personal de Ronnie Ramírez, a quien se agradeció especialmente por hacer posible este viaje a la Habana de los años 90 y por su constante labor en favor de la difusión y preservación de la cultura cubana y latinoamericana en Bélgica.
En un contexto internacional marcado por desafíos y tensiones, la iniciativa reafirmó el papel de la cultura como un puente imprescindible para el entendimiento, el diálogo y el acercamiento entre los pueblos, fortaleciendo los lazos entre Cuba y Bélgica a través del arte y el cine.

Cuban culture as a bridge for dialogue in Brussels: screening of Strawberry and Chocolate at the Jacques Franck Cultural Center
Brussels, December 21.- The Jacques Franck Cultural Center hosted a screening of the iconic Cuban film Strawberry and Chocolate, a work that transcends the realm of cinema to become a true embrace between Cubans and a universal message of tolerance, friendship, and respect for diversity.
Directed by renowned filmmakers Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Titón) and Juan Carlos Tabío, the film once again moved the audience. Beyond its acclaimed international success and historic Oscar nomination, Strawberry and Chocolate remains highly relevant as a social chronicle, a reflection of cultural and historical symbols, and a hymn to coexistence above all differences. Its screening served as a reminder that the values that unite peoples are always stronger than those that divide them.
The event received valuable support from the Cine-Club Kinolatino and the Association Culturelle Joseph Jacquemotte, as well as the personal commitment of Ronnie Ramírez, who was especially thanked for making this journey to 1990s Havana possible and for his constant work in favor of the dissemination and preservation of Cuban and Latin American culture in Belgium.
In an international context marked by challenges and tensions, the initiative reaffirmed the role of culture as an essential bridge for understanding, dialogue, and rapprochement between peoples, strengthening ties between Cuba and Belgium through art and cinema.
