From Lebanon, they denounce the intensification of the blockade, the energy blockade imposed on Cuba, and the U.S. threats of military aggression against Cuba
Political forces and friends of Cuba in Lebanon participated in a video conference chaired by the head of the CCPCC’s Department of International Relations, Emilio Lozada García, and comprising representatives of Cuban political and mass organizations, in an international meeting with representatives of parties, leftist forces, and groups in solidarity with Cuba in Africa.
The DRICCPCC leader provided a comprehensive update on Cuba, the intensification of the energy blockade imposed by the U.S. against the Caribbean island, and the Cuban people’s determination to continue working for the country’s development and defense. He also expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support from Africa and advocated for further deepening the ties between the peoples of Cuba and Africa.
In Lebanon, participants included Omar Deep, Head of International Relations for the Lebanese Communist Party; Castro Abdallah, President of the National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon (FENASOL); Wafica Mehdi, President of the “José Martí” Arab-Latin American Solidarity Association (ASAL); Ali Faisal, Vice President of the Palestinian National Council and Deputy Undersecretary of the FDLP; Ali Al Khatib, President of the League of Palestinian Graduates of Cuban Universities and Institutions; Maurice Nohra, President of the Lebanese-Cuban Friendship Association; and Dr. Bibi Faiz, President of the Palestinian-Cuban Friendship Association.
In her emotional and supportive remarks, the Lebanese representative of ASAL joined in condemning the intensification of the energy blockade, demanding Cuba’s removal from the spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism, and expressing support for the revolutionary people and government in their right to defend their sovereignty and independence.
