Funcionarios de la Embajada de Cuba en Bélgica participaron, este domingo, en un evento de recaudación de fondos en Gante, organizado por miembros de la organización “Cubanismo” y por las promotoras de la iniciativa “La Maleta Solidaria”.
La actividad, que tuvo lugar en el histórico inmueble conocido como la Casa Mundial, reunió a integrantes del movimiento de solidaridad con Cuba y a cubanos que se encuentran en este país. Durante el encuentro se abordaron recientes experiencias de apoyo a la Mayor de las Antillas, a través de donaciones que se han enviado a varios puntos de la geografía cubana, al tiempo que se plantearon nuevas propuestas de ayuda.
Betty Campos, cubana residente en Gante, explicó el complejo contexto que atraviesa nuestro país y reiteró su voluntad de continuar desarrollando iniciativas que se traduzcan en apoyo a su Patria y a sus compatriotas.
Por su parte, Jorge Alejandro Cano Pérez, Segundo Jefe de Misión de la Embajada cubana, agradeció las permanentes muestras de solidaridad y respaldo hacia Cuba y trasladó la importancia de continuar trabajando de conjunto para, a través de estas nobles y valerosas acciones, romper el bloqueo criminal de los EE.UU.

Support and Solidarity with Cuba Ratified in Ghent
Ghent, January 19, 2025 - Officials of the Cuban Embassy in Belgium participated this Sunday in a fundraising event in Ghent, organized by members of the organization “Cubanismo” and by the promoters of the initiative “La Maleta Solidaria” (The Solidarity Suitcase).
The activity, which took place in the historic building known as the World House, brought together members of the solidarity movement with Cuba and Cubans who are in this country. During the meeting, recent experiences of support to the largest of the Antilles were discussed, through donations that have been sent to various parts of the Cuban geography, and at the same time new aid proposals were put forward.
Betty Campos, a Cuban resident in Ghent, explained the complex context our country is going through and reiterated her willingness to continue developing initiatives that translate into support for her country and her compatriots.
For his part, Jorge Alejandro Cano Pérez, Second Chief of Mission of the Cuban Embassy, thanked the permanent expressions of solidarity and support for Cuba and expressed the importance of continuing to work together to break the criminal blockade of the US through these noble and courageous actions.
