Declaración del MINREX
El 10 de diciembre de 2025, fuerzas militares de Estados Unidos asaltaron un buque petrolero mientras navegaba en aguas internacionales en el Mar Caribe, cerca de las costas de Venezuela.
Este acto de piratería y terrorismo marítimo constituye una violación grave del Derecho Internacional, incluidas la Convención de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Derecho del Mar y el Convenio para la Represión de Actos Ilícitos contra la Seguridad de la Navegación Marítima. El gobierno de los Estados Unidos es responsable por la comisión de estos delitos, que dañan a la comunidad internacional en su conjunto.
Esta acción se inscribe en la escalada de los Estados Unidos para impedir el legítimo derecho de Venezuela a utilizar y comercializar libremente sus recursos naturales con otras naciones, incluidos los suministros de hidrocarburos a Cuba.
Durante el primer mandato de Donald Trump se adoptaron medidas para obstaculizar el libre comercio de los recursos petroleros venezolanos y se persiguió a los barcos que transportaban combustible a nuestro país. Esta situación persiste y se agrava ahora con el uso de la fuerza militar para intentar imponer su dominio sobre Nuestra América.
Estas acciones repercuten negativamente en Cuba y recrudecen la política de máxima presión y asfixia económica de los Estados Unidos, con un impacto directo en el sistema energético nacional y, por consiguiente, en la vida diaria de nuestro pueblo.
Este acto evidente de aplicación del corolario Trump de la Doctrina Monroe transgrede la proclama de América Latina y el Caribe como Zona de Paz y demanda la condena universal.

The economic warfare against Cuba is being strengthened

On December 10, 2025, US military forces rapelled onto an oil tanker while it sailed in international waters in the Caribbean Sea, off the Venezuelan coasts.
This act of piracy and maritime terrorism is a serious violation of International Law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Maritime Navigation. The US government is responsible for the commission of these crimes, which are harmful to the international community as a whole
This action is part of the US escalation aimed at hampering Venezuela's legitimate right to freely use and trade its natural resources with other nations, including the supplies of hydrocarbons to Cuba.
During the first mandate of Donald Trump, several measures were adopted to hinder the free trade of Venezuela's oil resources, and the vessels carrying fuel to our country were subject to persecution. This situation persists and has been worsened now with the use of military force in an attempt to impose the US domain on Our America.
These actions have a negative effect on Cuba and further tighten the US maximum pressure and economic suffocation policy, which has a direct impact on Cuba's national power system and, consequently, on the everyday life of our people.
This obvious act of application of Trump's corollary of the Monroe Doctrine violates the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and requires a universal condemnation.
