En conferencia de prensa desde el Espacio para el Desarrollo Cultural Comunitario, en esta capital, el embajador de Bélgica, Mathias Kende, resaltó la proyección de audiovisuales, conciertos, exposiciones y espectáculos de teatro para niños, entre otras actividades que mostrarán la riqueza cultural de la nación europea.
Destaca en el programa la exhibición de cortometrajes del Estudio belga Caméra-etc y la presentación de resultados de la cooperación con los Estudios de Animación del Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (Icaic) y cineastas independientes, el 5 de noviembre en esa institución habanera.
También, el concierto del dúo Dyad, integrado por el acordeonista Didier Laloy, el contrabajista Adrien Tyberghein y el percusionista cubano Adel González, así como el espectáculo de teatro para niños a cargo de la compañía Andrayas y Teatro de las Estaciones, ambas el día 6 en Matanzas, en la Sala José White y en el Teatro Sauto, respectivamente.
Otra de las iniciativas llega para deleitar a los admiradores de las artes visuales, con la inauguración de la muestra “20 Aniversario de la Semana Belga en Cuba”, el día 7 en la Vitrina de Valonia, institución que recibirá esa jornada el espectáculo teatral Violi-Voilá, por la compañía Andrayas.
Figura en la agenda del certamen el concierto del pianista Jef Neve y el dúo Dyad junto a la Orquesta del Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana, el 8 de noviembre en el Oratorio San Felipe Neri.
Mientras, el espectáculo de teatro visual Whomyn (12 de noviembre), por la compañía Andrayas, y la exposición “100 años de Art Déco: de Bruselas a La Habana (13) acontecerán en Nave Oficio de Isla y Nodo Habana, en ese orden.
El diplomático belga mostró interés en la realización de otros eventos culturales y en estrechar la cooperación en el ámbito deportivo, con énfasis en el juego de ajedrez.
La Semana Belga en Cuba será una oportunidad para reflexionar y celebrar la amistad entre ambos países, además de constituir un apoyo a los afectados por el huracán Melissa en el oriente cubano.

Belgian Week to showcase art, culture, and friendship in Cuba
At a press conference held at the Space for Community Cultural Development in the capital, Belgian Ambassador Mathias Kende highlighted the screening of audiovisuals, concerts, exhibitions, and theater performances for children, among other activities that will showcase the cultural richness of the European nation.
Highlights of the program include the screening of short films by the Belgian studio Caméra-etc and the presentation of the results of the collaboration between the Animation Studios of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) and independent filmmakers, on November 5 at that institution in Havana.
Also, the concert by the Dyad duo, made up of accordionist Didier Laloy, double bassist Adrien Tyberghein, and Cuban percussionist Adel González, as well as the theater show for children by the Andrayas and Teatro de las Estaciones companies, both on the 6th in Matanzas, at the José White Hall and the Sauto Theater, respectively.
Another initiative will delight fans of the visual arts with the opening of the exhibition “20th Anniversary of Belgian Week in Cuba” on the 7th at the Vitrina de Valonia, an institution that will host the theatrical show Violi-Voilá by the Andrayas company on that day.
