A short answer to an ill-intentioned article by Frida Ghitis, CNN

On April 19th, 2018, CNN published an article from its “contributor” Frida Ghitis, entitled: “Cuba's new President just a rebranding of repression”

Here is a my answer:

CNN claims to be a “truthful”, “rigorous” "World News Leader”. Any moderately “truthful” or “rigorous” article by its special contributor Frida Ghitis would have had the decency of reflecting facts and arguments that are suspiciously omitted in the said article.

She claims “Cuba’s economic system has been thoroughly proven to be unworkable”.

Really?

Is she referring to the US neighboring Small Island Developing State that has resisted a 56-years-old US economic, commercial and financial blockade which blacklists and punishes each a every Nation or company in the World that trades with #Cuba? Is her article about the same Small Island Developing State that despite its centuries-long colonial and neocolonial past, and the said US criminal and hostile policy – the longest in mankind’s history -, is still standing proud and independent? Is it about the solidary neighboring country that provides 100% universal and free-of-charge health-care and education services to all its citizens – standards that can only be unachievable dreams in the US?. Is she really talking about #Cuba, a developing country with 55 000 medical doctors saving lives in remote areas in 67 countries – more than all developed countries combined?

Is Ms. Frida Ghitis talking about the only country in the World which US citizens cannot visit, due to a US domestic law that amounts to a 58-years old violation of the US Constitution?. Is she referring to the country against which the US Congress earmarks millions every year in salaries for choreographed and well-paid “dissidents”, misusing own tax-payers’ budget?

For the author’s information, and free of charge, in 1994 the UN acknowledged special vulnerabilities and disadvantages for development of Small Island Developing States. The Cuban socialist system is so workable, that it is able to overcome those obstacles and stand its ground against the illegal US blockade. #Cuba as a Nation is able to remain united, update its economic and social development model and further develop its social programs.

The system that Ms. Frida Ghitisthat would like to see in #Cuba is very well known to all Cubans. It was eradicated in our sovereign Nation in 1959 when the US-backed despotic and corrupt government of Fulgencio Batista was overthrown. We are not returning to that past, Ms. Frida.

It is hard to conceive that a “truthful”, “rigorous” "World News Leader” would entertain the possibility of benefiting from such unsubstantiated and biased article. One of the two components of the formula is wrong…or both.

But anyway, Ms. Frida, your ill-intentioned “opinion contribution” to CNN is yet another great reason to know that #Cuba is in the right path…Ever onward to Victory!.
