Al decir de Fidel, “Luchar por la paz es el deber más sagrado de todos los seres humanos, cualesquiera que sean sus religiones o país de nacimiento, el color de su piel, su edad adulta o su juventud.” Fieles a su legado y a su infatigable labor por la preservación de la paz, Cuba ratifica su vocación y su compromiso con esta causa.
En el nombre del Partido Comunista de Cuba, del Gobierno y del pueblo cubano, saludamos este Foro Internacional por la Paz, el cual adquiere una especial relevancia debido a la complejidad que entraña hoy esta lucha y a la urgencia impuesta por la guerra, la destrucción, la muerte y el desplazamiento de miles de personas inocentes.
En momentos en que el régimen genocida de Israel desata una guerra contra la República Islámica de Irán con el apoyo de su principal aliado, el gobierno de Estados Unidos, lo cual pone en riesgo al Medio Oriente y a la humanidad en general, este Foro tiene una importancia trascendental.
Debemos articular esfuerzos frente a la guerra, los conflictos armados, la militarización, los bloqueos, el cambio climático y promover, desde la responsabilidad, el desarme, el multilateralismo efectivo, el desarrollo sostenible, el diálogo, la cooperación y la solidaridad internacionalista.
La paz va mucho más allá de la no existencia de actividades bélicas o militares. La paz debe ser concebida como la eliminación de desequilibrios provocados por el robo de recursos, por la imposición de voluntades, por las prácticas colonialistas y por todo aquello que vulnera la dignidad humana.
No podría dejar de mencionar al noble y valeroso pueblo palestino, que sufre cotidianamente el genocidio del ente sionista, la injusticia y la violación al más sagrado de los derechos: el derecho a la vida. Para los hermanos palestinos, nuestra admiración, respeto y apoyo firme e incondicional.
Desde Cuba, que en medio de condiciones muy complejas, defiende su independencia, su soberanía, su derecho a vivir con dignidad, sin bloqueos, sin sanciones y sin renunciar a su historia y a sus principios; trasladamos un mensaje de esperanza y optimismo ante esfuerzos como el de este Foro Internacional por articular una estrategia en favor de la paz.
No seamos indiferentes, trabajemos unidos por alcanzar una paz justa y duradera, por construir un nuevo orden político y económico, por el bienestar y por la seguridad de nuestros pueblos.

Greeting message of the First Secretary of the PCC and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez to the First International Forum for Peace
In Fidel's words, “Fighting for peace is the most sacred duty of all human beings, whatever their religions or country of birth, the color of their skin, their adulthood or their youth.” Faithful to his legacy and his tireless work for the preservation of peace, Cuba ratifies its vocation and commitment to this cause.
In the name of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government and the Cuban people, we salute this International Forum for Peace, which acquires a special relevance due to the complexity that this struggle entails today and the urgency imposed by war, destruction, death and displacement of thousands of innocent people.
At a time when the genocidal regime of Israel is unleashing a war against the Islamic Republic of Iran with the support of its main ally, the government of the United States, which puts the Middle East and humanity in general at risk, this Forum is of transcendental importance.
We must articulate our efforts in the face of war, armed conflicts, militarization, blockades, climate change and promote, based on responsibility, disarmament, effective multilateralism, sustainable development, dialogue, cooperation and international solidarity.
Peace goes far beyond the non-existence of war or military activities. Peace must be conceived as the elimination of imbalances caused by the theft of resources, by the imposition of wills, by colonialist practices and by everything that violates human dignity.
I could not fail to mention the noble and courageous Palestinian people, who suffer daily the genocide of the Zionist entity, injustice and the violation of the most sacred of rights: the right to life. To our Palestinian brothers, our admiration, respect and firm and unconditional support.
From Cuba, which in the midst of very complex conditions, defends its independence, its sovereignty, its right to live with dignity, without blockades, without sanctions and without renouncing its history and its principles; we send a message of hope and optimism in the face of efforts such as that of this International Forum to articulate a strategy in favor of peace.
Let us not be indifferent, let us work together to achieve a just and lasting peace, to build a new political and economic order, for the well-being and security of our peoples.
