Bruselas, 15 de abril.- La viceministra de Relaciones Exteriores de la República de Cuba Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo cumplió una intensa y productiva agenda de trabajo en Bélgica los días 13 y 14 del corriente. Durante su estancia, la diplomática cubana sostuvo encuentros con Pedro Laurtie, jefe de gabinete del Presidente del Consejo Europeo, Delphine Pronk, directora general de las Américas del Servicio Europeo de Acción Exterior y el director general adjunto de ese organismo, Pelayo Castro.
En sus intercambios con las contrapartes europeas, la viceministra denunció el impacto del bloqueo y el cerco energético impuesto por los Estados Unidos contra Cuba, al tiempo que ratificó la disposición para ampliar y profundizar los nexos entre la Unión Europea y Cuba, a pesar de complejo contexto internacional.
Al ser recibida por Maciej Popowski, director general de Protección Civil y Ayuda Humanitaria de la Unión Europea (DG ECHO), la viceministra tuvo la oportunidad de agradecer el apoyo de esa entidad a Cuba en las actuales circunstancias de bloqueo energético que vive el país.
En el ámbito bilateral, Rodríguez Camejo sostuvo un encuentro con Hubert Roisin, jefe de gabinete de la Oficina del Viceprimer Ministro y Canciller de Bélgica, ocasión en la que fue ratificada la postura de Bélgica en oposición al bloqueo de Estados Unidos contra Cuba y a la inclusión de la isla en la injusta Lista de Estados Patrocinadores del Terrorismo.
El programa de la visita también incluyó encuentros en el ámbito parlamentario, tanto en el Parlamento Federal de Bélgica, como en el Parlamento Europeo. Además, se realizó un encuentro con el colectivo de la Embajada de Cuba en Bélgica, oportunidad en la que la viceministra destacó la importancia del trabajo político hacia Bélgica y la Unión Europea, así como explicó ampliamente las medidas que adopta el país para hacer frente a las políticas hostiles de los Estados Unidos.

Deputy Minister Anayansi Rodríguez on working visit to Belgium
Brussels, April 15.- The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, carried out an intense and productive work agenda in Belgium on April 13 and 14. During her stay, the Cuban diplomat held meetings with Pedro Laurtie, Chief of Staff to the President of the European Council; Delphine Pronk, Director General for the Americas of the European External Action Service (EEAS); and Pelayo Castro, Deputy Director General of that body.
In her exchanges with European counterparts, the Deputy Minister denounced the impact of the blockade and the energy siege imposed by the United States against Cuba, while reaffirming her willingness to expand and deepen ties between the European Union and Cuba, despite the complex international context.
During a meeting with Maciej Popowski, Director General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations of the European Union (DG ECHO), the Deputy Minister had the opportunity to thank the entity for its support to Cuba under the current circumstances of the energy blockade that the country is experiencing.
On the bilateral front, Rodríguez Camejo held a meeting with Hubert Roisin, Chief of Staff to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor of Belgium. On that occasion, Belgium’s stance against the U.S. blockade of Cuba and the inclusion of the island on the unjust List of State Sponsors of Terrorism was reaffirmed.
The visit’s agenda also included meetings at the parliamentary level, both in the Federal Parliament of Belgium and in the European Parliament. Additionally, a meeting was held with the staff of the Cuban Embassy in Belgium, during which the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of political work towards Belgium and the European Union, and extensively explained the measures adopted by the country to confront the hostile policies of the United States.
