Dear friends,
You can’t imagine how pleased I am in congratulating you on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Amberes Habanos Sociedad. As
Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and as a Cuban citizen, I’m proud that Michel had the great initiative of creating this Sociedad, which brings together a selective group of fans of the best cigars of the world.
The fact that Michel himself established this Society is an additional reason of pride for us, since it is very well known that he is a highly recognized cigar expert in Antwerp and in Belgium. Therefore, by creating this society, he gave our Habanos a prime place in this beautiful and important city.
The love you all share for the best cigars of the world, and your meetings around them are also a sign of love to the culture and the history of my country, present in our Habanos. I’m sure that you all know that the Habano’ s tradition that began with the aboriginal population of Cuba, has been preserved and enriched by the various generations of Cubans. Those who have cultivated and consumed this unique product, that constitute a source of work for many farmers and workers who make then and who has created what its recognized as “ La cultura de las tabaquerias”
Our cigar rulers are without any doubt, real artists who manage to sculpt the tobacco casing, cloak and cape, sending the highest quality cigars of the world to all regions. Undoubtedly, the lithographic rings and labels which identify them have an incredible beauty recognized by all. That’s why by privileging our Habanos, you are giving honour and spreading our culture. At the same time you are disseminating the history of Cuba, sovereign and solidarity nation, brave and tender, always fraternal and grateful to friends like you, members of this exclusive club.
Through this letter I send you my most sincere and deep gratitude for privileging our Habanos, and a special hug to Michel for creating this society and defending Cuba through our Habanos.
