10th Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba

On June 25 and 26, the 10th Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) was held in Toronto, where Sandra Ramirez Rodriguez, Director of the North America Desk of ICAP, the Cuban ambassador, Héctor Igarza and the General Consul, Yanier Castellanos, as well as friends of solidarity and members of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans Residing in Toronto, were present.

For two days, delegates from different solidarity organizations that make up the Network ratified their commitment to the welfare of the Cuban people and their willingness to continue fighting against the inhumane U.S. blockade against Cuba.

The 60th anniversary medal of ICAP was presented to the CNC through its co-president Elizabeth Hill and emotional messages were received from Fernando González, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and from the General Consul. On the other hand, the directors of the CNC presented a commemorative plaque to ICAP, which was received by the Director Sandra Ramirez.

The Cuban Ambassador, in addition to making a presentation on bilateral relations, acknowledged the work done by the organization during all this time, as well as its efforts to continue supporting the people of Cuba.

Within the framework of the Convention, the Cuban diplomats together with the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association celebrated the 20th anniversary of the CNC.

After days of intense work, friends of solidarity and delegates to the Convention ratified their rejection of the U.S. blockade against Cuba in front of the U.S. Consulate in Toronto.
