With a political-cultural activity, after the winter holidays, took place the tribute to the 172nd Anniversary of the birth of the Cuban National Hero at School # 52, José Martí, in Ulan Bator.
The event was presided over by the Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer and Mrs. Tsolmon Amgalan, primary education studies manager, who gave the central speeches.
The Ambassador stressed that one of Martí's merits, which makes his life and work immortal and universal, is that his words transcend his time and borders. Today, more than a century later, they are as valid as they were then
The Cuban diplomat highlighted similarities between the thought and praxis of the two greatest men of Cuba and Mongolia, José Martí and Genghis Khan, whose broad and profound legacies endure to this day.
The Cuban Ambassador pointed out that Martí and Genghis Khan preached the unity of the nation, the abolition of slavery, gender equality, the happiness of their people, support for the weakest, humility and detachment from wealth.
The Member of the board of Directors of the center highlighted the honor of this institution to bear the name of Martí and recalled that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Cuban Ambassador also announced the granting of a scholarship to the school to study medicine in Cuba and laid a floral offering at the bust of Martí in the school theater.
During the activity, the students sang songs in Spanish and danced to the rhythm of “Ojalá” by Silvio Rodríguez, “Siembra” by Buena Fe, and “La Fiesta” by Isaac Delgado.
