On the evening of December 20, the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution was celebrated in the city of Toronto, with the presence of provincial authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, Cuban residents and friends of Cuba.
Some of the participating provincial authorities were: Anish Dwivedi, Senior Advisor to the Premier of Ontario; Kara Rawson, Chief of Protocol and Director of International Relations of the province; Anthony Perruza, Toronto City Councillor; Michel Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions of the province of Ontario. In addition, Oscar Vigil, Executive Director of the Hispanic Canadian Heritage Council and Amin El-Maoued, President of Palestine House Toronto, also attended.
Michel Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions of the province of Ontario, conveyed a message of congratulations from Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, and highlighted the main values of our people, as well as the work carried out by the Cuban Consulate.
Daisy Camacho, on behalf of the Association of Cuban Residents, denounced the impact of the US blockade against our country and ratified the commitment to the Cuban Revolution.
Consul General Jorge Yanier Castellanos thanked those present for their support to our people and reaffirmed the main achievements of the Revolution, as well as the will of the Consulate to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations.
As a culmination of the event, those present had the opportunity to enjoy the culture and traditions of our country, from the hands of Cuban residents in that city.
