The 66th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada barracks was celebrated in Nigeria

NIGERIA, July 29, 2019. The Cuban Embassy in Nigeria recalled the 65th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks, as part of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The activity was chaired by Carlos Trejo Sosa, Cuban ambassador to the African country, who was in charge of the central words. This moment served to remember the feat performed by the Cuban revolutionaries led by Fidel in that historic action. The head of the Diplomatic Mission highlighted the role that the Caribbean nation played in internationalist struggles and in the eradication of Ebola in the African continent, facts that demonstrate the continuity and legacy of the process initiated on July 26, but in 1953.

Also present were accredited diplomats in the country, Nigerian officials, Cuban residents and Nigerians graduated in Cuba.
