The 96th birthday of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro was commemorated in Toronto.

On the eve of the 96th birthday of our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, a simple but moving and heartfelt activity was held in Toronto to pay tribute to our eternal Fidel on his birthday. In addition, messages of solidarity were expressed for the accident in Matanzas and the attitude of the Cuban people and government was acknowledged.

The evening included poems by Carlos Angulo, songs and videos allegorical to the date, as well as a very special moment where those present shared anecdotes, experiences and memories of Fidel. We had a beautiful photographic exhibition by the artist Albino and the book "Yo conocí a FIDEL. Compilation of anecdotes and assessments about the leader of the Cuban Revolution" written by Wilmer Rodriguez Fernandez.

We were accompanied by the Russian General Consul, the president of the Palestinian House in Toronto, members of the Communist Parties of Canada, the Canadian Network on Cuba, the Juan Gualberto Gomez Association of Cubans, the Latin American and the Caribbean Solidarity Network, the Hugo Chavez Front, among other organizations, intellectuals, artists and other Cuban residents.

The General Consul thanked all the representatives of the different organizations and those who individually came to ratify their affection for our country and especially for our Commander in Chief.
