Acting Liberian Foreign Minister receives Cuban head of mission.

Monrovia, May 5, 2021 - The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Hon. Henry B. Fahnbulleh received the Cuban head of mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, being his office, the scene of this meeting at the Chancellery of the African country.

During the meeting, which took place in a fruitful and cordial atmosphere, bilateral and multilateral issues of interest to both countries were discussed.

The occasion was propitious for the Cuban diplomat to reiterate gratitude to the Liberian government for its support to the Cuban cause against the U.S. blockade.

The head of mission Martinez Herrera also spoke about our long and unwavering fight against the blockade and condemned its brutal intensification in times of pandemic, while indicating that Cuba has had to face the COVID-19 with the limitations inherent to a blockade which she called "insane and cruel".

For his part, the Liberian diplomat reiterated his support for Cuba in its struggle against the U.S. blockade of which the Cuban people have been victims for more than 60 years.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of International Cooperation and Economic Integration Hon. Abraham Korvah, and the Assistant to the Chancellor for American Affairs Hon, Maxwell P. Vah.
