Gothenburg, September 16 - Once again Cuba was present at the edition of the Race for Peace held in Gothenburg. Invited by the Proletaren FF Club, Ambassador Alba Soto and the person in charge of Consular Affairs, Yohanna Cordero, attended the event, which was timely to share with the numerous people present.
In the greeting addressed to the participants, the Cuban Ambassador ratified the support of the Caribbean Island for the cause of peace, and for the initiative that annually attracts the presence of different regions of Sweden. In her words, she once again rejected the blockade that has damaged the Island for more than 60 years; She spoke out for Cuba's removal from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism; She conveyed solidarity with the brother Palestinian people and gratitude to friends and comrades for supporting the causes of Cuba.
Cuban participation in this important race in favor of peace dates back more than two decades. At the end of the event, both diplomats had the honor of announcing and presenting the awards to the participants.
This year the Race has the particularity that a part of the funds will be used to invite a Cuban youth soccer team to participate in the renowned Gothia Youth Soccer Cup.
