Ambassador of Cuba to Australia attends meeting on multilateral affairs at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Canberra, February 12, 2019.- The Cuban Ambassador to Australia H.E. Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez held a meeting this afternoon with Justin Lee, First Assistant Secretary from the Multilateral Policy Division at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It was exchanged on relations between both countries in the field of multilateralism.

During the talks the level of cooperation developed in recent years between Cuba and Australia in the framework of international organizations was highlighted, particularly within the United Nations System.

The Cuban senior diplomat thanked Australia's historic position in support of the Cuban resolution for the lifting of US bloackade on the island, which will be presented once again this year to the members of the United Nations General Assembly for consideration. The Australian representative confirmed that his government would continue to maintain a position of support to Cuba on this issue.
