Manila, June 13, 2023- The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Concurrent in the Philippines, Florentino Batista González held a working meeting this Tuesday with Stephanie Alexis A. Cruz, Director of the Division III Mexico and Central America of the Office of American Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs, DFA.
At the meeting, the official and the Cuban ambassador discussed issues of interest to both nations while reviewing the status of initiatives to improve bilateral relations.
This meeting took place within the framework of the official visit of the Cuban ambassador to the Philippines, where he is at the invitation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on the occasion of the celebrations for the 125th Anniversary of the Independence of the Asian nation.
During his visit, Batista González has participated in several official actions on the occasion of the nation's celebrations, and during the rest of the day he plans to meet with groups in solidarity with Cuba as well as with the community residing in Manila and other senior government officials and the chancellery.
