The Ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, was received by Mrs. Clare Keizer, Director of the national newspaper Searchlight, at the headquarters of the newspaper.
During the meeting, the parties held a lively exchange on the main events in bilateral relations over the past months, highlighting the impact of the opening of the Modern Medical Diagnostic Center in the city of Georgetown, built and operated with Cuban collaboration; the official visit to Cuba of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, the successful procession of the second phase of the application of the Cuban drug Heberprot-P and the prospects for expanding that service, among others.
During the meeting, current topics of Cuban nationality were addressed.
The diplomat referred to the intensification of the US blockade against Cuba during the last year, the impact of that criminal policy in the different spheres of life of Cubans, as well as the rights of third countries, their citizens and their companies.
The Ambassador reiterated Cuba's decision to continue denouncing the blockade imposed by the US. for nearly six decades and made reference to the presentation, in the General Assembly of the United Nations, next October 31st, of the Resolution on the Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
