Pretoria, December 18, 2022.- The Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, participated in the 55th National Conference of the African National Congress (ANC), acompannied by the Third Secretary of the Embassy, Bryan Betancourt Brito. At the Conference, the Ambassador conveyed a congratulatory message to the ANC on behalf of the Communist Party of Cuba, especially its First Secretary, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the excellent level of bilateral and partisan relations between both countries and thanked South Africa for its unrestricted support to Cuba in the fight against the blockade.
Within the framework of the Congress, the Ambassador held a meeting with the president of the Party and the country, Cyril Ramaphosa, who thanked Cuba for its support in the fight against apartheid and for sending doctors at the worst moment of the pandemic.
