CUBAN MEDICAL SERVICES
ACADEMIC SERVICES
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR POSTGRADUATE ACADEMIC SERVICES
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION
292 years of experience in Health Sciences teaching at the service of the world
The Universities of Medical Sciences of Cuba extend their most cordial welcome to those interested in initiating studies of academic formation and professional improvement in our island of the Caribbean Sea whose greatest treasure are its inhabitants and natural beauties, within a framework of peace and citizen safety unparalleled in the world.
Cuba has 13 medical science universities, as well as multiple postgraduate (CEP) and health research centers, which offer the possibility of satisfying professional training and improvement at the request of governments, institutions, groups or individuals.
These academic institutions are authorized by the legal mechanisms established by the Cuban State for such purposes, under the direction of a Rector and with a categorized cloister, in certified scenarios, which gives the right to issue university certification documents of any level.
In Cuba there is a National Accreditation System, whereby, in each university campus, the scenarios for training in the different careers and postgraduate studies offered are certified, in order to guarantee the fulfillment of the activities described in the Programs of study. The program of study is unique for the whole country and its implementation is carried out equally for all.
The teaching activity of health postgraduate in Cuba includes training in more than 50 medical specialties, 5 Stomatological, and 3 nursing, which are offered to graduates of homonymous careers. In addition, there are at least 17 master's degrees for students from other countries, although others may be offered, and five different types of doctoral programs in health sciences and other professional improvement activities such as courses, trainings and diplomas. In some cases, training activities, particularly in the practical field, can be complemented by universities in other countries.
As a principle, it is taken into account that, in training, the degree can be homologated in the country where the candidate comes from or intends to practice, so the addition of other contents and objectives in the program of study is allowed, after conciliation with the university authorities and SMC. In no case the removal of content is made at request of the applicant, except those that are processed through the validations and sufficiency tests provided for in the postgraduate regulations.
For the different formations it is necessary to have the Spanish language approved, or in default to study the 20-week program established for it. In the case of improvement activities or other, it is possible to do it in English, or even in other languages, which should be consulted in a specific way for each case.
Other academic possibilities are available, just contact us and together we can make them come true.
Welcome!
