THE ASSOCIATION OF CUBAN RESIDENTS IN SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES ISSUED A COMBATIVE DECLARATION ON THE OCCASION OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE DAY OF CULTURE AND THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE START OF THE WARS FOR CUBAN INDEPENDENCE

In the activity to celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture, Arianna Taylor Israel, the President of the Association of Cubans living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines "Juan Almeida Bosque", read a Declaration issued by that organization in which it demanded the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and the return of the territory, illegally occupied by the Guantánamo Naval Base.

On the occasion of the October 31th presentation of the Cuban Resolution "Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US. against Cuba "at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, we, the members of the Association of Cuban Residents in St. Vincent and the Grenadines denounce and declare our desire to put an end to the unjust blockade imposed by the United States against our homeland for almost 60 years.

We have witnessed how each year, in the United Nations Organization the number of countries that vote in favor of lifting the blockade increases, which has been a diplomatic victory for Cubans in the face of the imperialist.

The signs of international rejection of the blockade are evident, including on the part of US citizens themselves, who are also affected by the restrictions of that policy.

The blockade represents, in its highest expression, a violation of human rights, the sovereignty of our country and that of third parties. We have seen how many of the sister nations and even banking institutions have been punished for establishing friendly links or conducting legal transactions with our country, thus hindering the economic and social development of our nation.

We want to alert our brothers about the injustice committed by the North American Government against our people and we join to all those who in the world demand the end of the genocidal blockade, the return to our country of the territory, illegally occupied by the Naval Base of Guantánamo, and condemn the interference in the internal affairs of nations.

Long live Cuba!

Down with the Blockade!

Our Country or Death!

We will Overcome!
