London, September 30, 2022-. Yesterday, the Association "Cubanos en UK" published on its website a message of solidarity addressed to their fellow countrymen in Cuba, on the occasion of the recent affectations caused by Hurricane Ian as it passed through Cuban territory.
Below, we reproduce the text of the aforementioned communication in its entirety:
"Message of solidarity from the Association "Cubanos en UK" on the occasion of the recent damages caused by Hurricane Ian.
The Association of Cubans living in the United Kingdom, "Cubanos en UK" sends a message of solidarity to all those affected by the passage of Hurricane Ian through the western part of the country.
We have learned of the damages caused by the meteorological phenomenon to housing, agriculture, the electrical and telephone system, as well as other infrastructures of importance to the country's economy, particularly in the province of Pinar del Rio.
Aware of the difficult economic and energy situation the country is going through, we take this opportunity to denounce once again the unjust and criminal blockade of the United States towards Cuba, which has been in force for more than 6 decades.
We welcome with great satisfaction that, while the U.S. government continues with its policy of economic asphyxiation even in the most difficult moments of our homeland, other countries and friends around the world offer their unconditional help and solidarity. Our infinite gratitude goes to all of them.
We are certain that the brave Cuban people together with their government, the PCC, the civil defense institutions and the rest of the political and mass organizations involved, will achieve the recovery and return to normality in the shortest possible time.
We "Cubanos en UK" also join in the willingness to help in whatever is necessary today, tomorrow and always.
