THE ASSOCIATION OF CUBANS, RESIDENTS IN SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, RESOLUTELY REJECTS THE BLOCKADE OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST CUBA.

Within the framework of the activity of solidarity with Cuba, celebrated in homage to the Day of Cuban Culture, Arianna Taylor Israel, President of the Association of Cubans, Residents in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, read a combative Declaration rejecting the US blockade against Cuba and its intensification during the administration of the President Donald Trump.

The text of the Declaration follows:

October 20th is for Cubans a transcendental date in the history of liberation.

On this date we listened, for the first time, the notes of our national anthem, "El himno de Bayamo", between the ashes and the ruins of a city in rebellion against the Spain colony.

The lyrics of the hymn constituted an allegation of our Mambises to carry out the struggle, that finished in January of 1959 under the leadership of our immortal Commander in Chief  Fidel Castro Ruz.

One more time our most powerful enemy, the Government of the United States of America, with President Trump at the head, sent out a new sanction against our nation.

We, the Cubans residents in SVG energetically reject the genocidal economic blockade that we have been suffering for so long.

The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, said: "The Blockade will not bend the will of the Cubans and will grow an universal rejection against it".

Finally we would like to take the opportunity to congratulate our Vincentians brothers and sisters for the 40th Anniversary of Independence.

Long Live Cuba!

Long Live Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Viva Fidel!

Viva Cuba Libre!
