Accra, August 31st, 2023- With a solemn Wreath laying ceremony at the grave of the Former President Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, at the military cemetery of the Ghana Armed Forces of Burma Camp in the Ghanaian capital, was started a program organized by the Association of Ghanaian Graduates in Cuba, ESBECAN, for the 40th Anniversary of the arrival of the batch of Ghanaian students to Cuba.
Family members, military personnel and several generations of Graduates gathered to thank the Ghanaian leader, who worked with our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, to make possible for young people from the most humble backgrounds in Ghana to study in Cuba. His partner in life and former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, thanked the Association for the gesture and recalled the origin of the project, the economic vicissitudes and the opposition faced. Likewise, she recognized the correctness of the decision, due to the transformative experience, which provided and continues to provide to Ghana with highly qualified personnel who are socially committed to the development of the country.
For the Presidency of the Association of Ghanaian Graduates in Cuba, deliver a speech its President, Phillip Bentil. The second secretary in charge of political affairs, Yamil Eduardo Martínez Marrero, participated on behalf of the Cuban Embassy in Ghana.
