Ottawa, March 28, 2022 - Several Canadian cities were once again the scene of the Bridges of Love initiative on the last weekend of March. On this occasion, Cuban residents and friends of solidarity took as a stage the cities of Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg to express their support for Cuba and join the worldwide call for an end to the U.S. blockade against the island, which also affects third countries.
The initiative has been held in Canada for more than a year and, since its inception, has mobilized friends from different corners of the northern nation, belonging to different sectors of society, but all have been united by a common sentiment: to demand an end to the blockade and the hostile U.S. policy towards Cuba.
The occasion was propitious to reaffirm the support of the friends in solidarity with the Cuban people, in defense of just causes, as well as to ratify their will to put an end to the policies of the U.S. government that directly and indirectly affect the economic and social development of Cuba, people-to-people relations and with their families, and deprive the Cuban people of resources, goods, food and sources of financing that would allow them to promote the development of the Caribbean nation and the satisfaction of the needs of its population.
