Calcutta reaffirms solidarity with Cuba.

The Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas, visited the city of Calcutta, capital of the state of West Bengal, during which the feeling of friendship and solidarity of the Indian people with our country and the memory of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the heroic Guerrilla, Ernesto Che Guevara, who visited this city in 1973 and 1959 respectively, was made clear.

The Ambassador was received at the headquarters of the Communist Party and the Communist Party (Marxist). During the meetings, he exchanged with the authorities of these political forces and renewed the close relations of friendship with Cuba.

He was also received at the offices of the All India Organization for Peace and Solidarity and the Group of Friends of Latin America. All the meetings were an expression of the feeling of solidarity, friendship and cooperation that unites both peoples.

The aforementioned Indian forces and organizations stressed their invariable position of support for Cuba, its Revolution and the demand to put an end to the US blockade and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the peoples of Cuba and India.
