Call "For World Balance"

The José Martí Project of International Solidarity, sponsored by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science, and Culture (UNESCO) was approved by the 32nd General Conference of that organization in 2003 and since then has had the accompaniment of the Social and Human Sciences of that organization.

Almost twenty years have elapsed since the creation of this Project, coordinated by the Office of the Martí Project of Cuba, evidencing a clear capacity to summon to the multiple activities connected with it that are celebrated in the different regions and countries, including the granting of the UNESCO/José Martí International Prize, soon to celebrate its tenth edition. A great international movement has been promoted with its actions, aimed at expanding the legacy of the Apostle of the Independence and National Hero of Cuba, and at the same time favoring the promotion of UNESCO’s priorities.

Evidence of it is that the recent 4th International Conference FOR WORLD BALANCE, which brought together in Havana on January 28-31, 2019 almost one thousand delegates from 63 countries of all the continents (including Cuba) was a successful event of notable impact in the sector of Social and Human Sciences, both for the high academic and scientific level of its speakers and participants, and for the high number of participants and the rigorous Scientific Program it achieved.

The work plans prepared by the World Council, leading member of the José Martí Project, are designed for two-year periods and must culminate in a great, multidisciplinary forum of plural thought, as has happened since 2003, indistinctly  under the names of FOR WORLD BALANCE, WITH ALL AND FOR THE GOOD OF ALL, and FOR A CULTURE OF NATURE.

On this occasion we convoke to the 5th International Conference FOR WORLD BALANCE (“With All and for the Good of All”), to be celebrated on the occasion of the 168th birth anniversary of José Martí, great universal thinker of profound humanist, anti-imperialist, and ethical convictions, as well as of social justice. The most urgent global problems that affect Humankind in the present will be discussed in it.

This International Conference will continue to be an extension of the debates of the World Congress of Humanities held in August, 2017 in Liège, Belgium, sponsored by UNESCO and the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences. The participants will receive a diploma with the corresponding academic credits, according to international standards.

By means of master conferences, special presentations, commissions, panels, a juvenile forum, and other forms of reflection, a wide and varied range of themes will be handled as corresponds to a plural and multi-disciplinary forum of this nature and magnitude. The official languages of the Conference will be Spanish, English, and Portuguese, while the plenary sessions will also have simultaneous French and Russian translation.
