Call for the XVII National Meeting of Cubans living in Canada

Ottawa, April 12. Members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Ottawa - Gatineau launched the call for the XVII National Meeting of Cuban Residents in Canada, which will take place in May, in the capital of the country.

Coinciding with the 129th anniversary of the fall of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, this National Meeting will contribute to fostering unity among Cubans, in accordance with Martí's ideology and to continue the work carried out by our fellow Cubans, in a context marked by the intensification of the U.S. blockade.

Among the objectives proposed for the Event stated in the Call are: to take stock of the work carried out by the organizations of Cubans living in Canada since the last meeting and to project the work until the next meeting to be held in 2025; to continue the work aimed at strengthening and uniting the Cuban community living in the country with the purpose of maintaining a direct relationship with the Homeland, as well as to promote the exchange between members of the Cuban community living in Canada and the network of solidarity with Cuba.

The meeting, held by videoconference, was also attended by members of the "Juan Gualberto Gómez" Association of Toronto, the "Cuban Community in Canada" Association of Montreal, Ambassador-designate Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz and the Cuban Consuls in the country.
