The Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto celebrates Jose Marti´s 164th Birthday Anniversary

Toronto, January 30th, 2017. The Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto (CCFA- Toronto) organized last Saturday a traditional cultural event to celebrate the 164th anniversary of Cuba’s National Hero, José Marti. Friends of Cuba, Cuban residents abroad and members of the Consulate General shared this lovely evening.

Elizabeth Hill, President of the CCFA, in her welcome speech, recalled the relevance of Jose Marti´s legacy. On the other hand, Tania Lopez Larroque, Consul General of Cuba, stressed the figure of Jose Marti as a symbol of patriotism and the relevance of his ideals for Cuba, Latin America and the world, as well as the links between Fidel and Marti along the Cuban revolutionary process. Other participants shared the poetry of Jose Marti and played Cuban melodies.
