NIGERIA, August 7, 2019. A political event was held at the “Santos” Theater, in the city of Alimosho, Lagos State, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of our bilateral relations.
The activity was chaired by a representative of the State government, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government of Alimosho, the president of the NLC in Lagos and the ambassadors of Cuba and Venezuela. There was also a representative of the TUC and one of the Pan-African Solidarity Movement. It was a very emotional act, of great combativeness in the defense of Cuba against the blockade and aggressiveness of the United States government, as well as condemnation of the persistent attacks of the United States on Venezuela. Speakers referred to the role of Cuba in Africa, to the lessons emanating from its example for all oppressed and developing countries, as well as to the successes of our country in the different spheres, despite the blockade. The emphasis on Cuba's achievements in the fields of education and health was significant, aspects to which several of the speakers clung to attract the attention of the Nigerian government.
