Nigeria, May 19th, 2023 - Pavel Bauzá Fusté, Charge d'Affaires a. i. of the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria, received journalist Christian Appolos, from the newspaper Nigerian Tribune, at the Cuban Embassy.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the wonderful historical relations between both peoples and the existing potential to continue deepening them.
In the same way, he referred to the unfair behavior of the US administration in keeping his country on the spurious list issued by the State Department, where it classifies Cuba as a country that sponsors terrorism, which he described as one more tool of the US government to exert pressure against the Cuban people, for having decided to be the protagonist of their destiny and fight for their independence just to 90 miles from the empire, and is part of the economic war actions against the Cuban people within the economic, financial and commercial blockade, which years after years it is repudiated worldwide in the United Nations.
Both agreed on the importance of contemporary journalism, which must work so that it is committed to truth and fairness, and avoid being part of campaigns against the people.
They also exchanged on numerous topics of national and international interest, in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
