Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Namibia highlights links with Cuban institutions.

Namibia, March 2nd, 2022- His Lordship Peter Shivute, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Namibia, highlighted the excellent state of relations between his institution and the People's Supreme Court of Cuba and its president Rubén Remigio Ferro.

In a cordial meeting, held with Sidenio Acosta, Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Shivute recalled his two visits to the Island, to participate in the international events on Justice and Law of 2016 and 2018, organized in Havana by the highest Cuban judicial body. . With pleasure, he highlighted the meeting with Miguel Díaz-Canel, president of the Republic of Cuba.

Similarly, he evoked the official visit of Rubén Remigio Ferro to Namibia, in 2017, who met with Namibian President Hage Geingob.

For his part, Ambassador Acosta updated President Shivute on the effectiveness of Cuban vaccines against Covid-19. Likewise, he described the effects on the Cuban economy caused by the strengthening of the US blockade.

Peter Shivute was appointed as Chief Justice of Namibia in 2004.
