Ottawa, August 13, 2019.- On the afternoon of Tuesday, the collective of the Cuban Embassy in Canada with the friends of the solidarity groups Ottawa-Cuba Connections, ALBA Social Movements Canada - Ottawa Chapter, the Roundtable Consultation of Montreal, Canada - Cuba Friendship Association in Toronto and Cubans residing in Canada, commemorated the 93 Anniversary of the Birthday of the Commander in Chief and historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
In his own words, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i, Mr. Giuvel Orozco Ortega, talked about the ideology and example of the Commander in Chief. He reiterated the commitment of the new generations to defend his work.
On behalf of the solidarity groups with Cuba in Canada, Elizabeth Hill, Colette Lavergne and Louis Lang took the floor; as well as Rolando Hernández on behalf of Cubans residing in Ottawa.
During the evening we enjoyed the premiere of the documentary "Fidel is Fidel". The Bolivian songwriter Gustavo Saavedra liven up the evening with songs dedicated to the Commander in Chief.
