Cubaminrex, 18 January 2021. Communiqué of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) Condemning the Inclusion of Cuba in the Unilateral List of State Sponsors of Terrorism by the United States of America
.The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement strongly condemns the most recent inclusion of the Republic of Cuba in the unilateral List of State Sponsors of Terrorism of the Department of State of the United States of America, as announced on January 1
.The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement rejects the politicization of the fight against terrorism, which is detrimental to international efforts towards that end, including through the unilateral preparation of lists accusing States and their constitutionally established institutions of allegedly supporting terrorism and, in consequence, rejects the unfounded accusation that Cuba sponsors terrorism.
.The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement reiterates its firm position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, as well as all acts, methods and practices of terrorism wherever, by whomever, against whomsoever committed, including those in which States are directly or indirectly involved, which are unjustifiable whatever the considerations or factors that may be invoked to justify them, and in this context reaffirms their support for the provisions contained in General Assembly resolution 46/51 of 9 December 1991 and other relevant United Nations resolutions.
.The Coordinating Bureau calls, once again, Member States to ensure no tolerance for terrorism, regardless of the targets or motives, and reaffirms its call to refrain from organizing, instigating, facilitating, participating in, financing, encouraging or tolerating terrorist activities and to take appropriate practical measures to ensure that their respective territories are not used for terrorist installations or training camps or for the preparation or organization of terrorist acts intended to be committed against other States or their citizens.
.The Coordinating Bureau looks forward to the new US administration taking the necessary actions to reverse these baseless steps taken in regard Cuba and to move toward normalizing relations.
